The name "Taurean" is of African-American origin and it's meaning is "strong as a bull."
The Taurean is made from solid hardwood and is constructed using time honored joinery techniques passed down by master
craftsmen. The Taureans' sides and top are mitered for a seamless look, giving the pedestal the apperance of being one big
block of wood. For additional strength and durability we glue in splines to all the miters along the entire length of the pedestal.
To ensure Taurean lives up to the "strong as a bull" name we've given it, we take one more additional step. And that is to glue and
nail internal glue blocks all along the inside corners. This pedestal is extra strong! Taurean is great looking too!
The good looks begin with your choice of the primary hardwood. Then add to them by choosing a complimentary inlay.
We'll finish it off by applying 7 coats of a crystal clear polycrylic top coat. Each layer of top coat must cure for 24 hours before it can be
hand sanded to level and prepare the surface for subsequent layers. The final coat is hand rubbed, waxed and buffed to a luxurious satiny gloss.
