Durand!  The name is Latin in origin and means "enduring." At Fine Art Pedestals it is our strong desire that every pedestal we make become a family heirloom! So...we thought the name Durand especially fitting. To be sure, the Durand is made from solid hardwood and only time honored joinery techniques are used in it's construction. The pedestals sides and top are mitered for a seamless look, giving it the apperance of being one solid block of wood. For added strength and durability we glue splines in along the entire length of each miter and then glue and nail internal blocks all along the inside corners. This pedestal will live on and on!         Polycrylic top coat hand rubbed to a luxiourious semi-gloss
        sheen. Paint finishes receive 3 coats of Minwax's Polycrylic.
